Phosphating

Phosphating provides a uniform protective layer that ensures perfect adhesion for paint or powder coating applications while also creating effective corrosion protection. KIESOW offers high-performance iron, zinc, and manganese phosphating as well as no-rinse conversion coating systems.

Phosphating

Optimal Metal Pretreatment

Phosphating is a proven process for the pretreatment of metal surfaces. The finely to coarsely crystalline mono- and mixed-crystal structures created through chemical reactions can optionally be further protected by passivation and oil emulsions. With our product lines SURFASIT®, SURFACOTE® and SURFASEAL®, we perfectly cover the field of coating preparation.

Thin Layer

Zinc Phosphating

In zinc phosphating, an insoluble zinc phosphate layer is formed on a metal surface through a chemical reaction. It creates a strongly adhesive, corrosion-protective base for subsequent coatings or temporary protection. At KIESOW, we offer zinc phosphating systems for both immersion and spray processes.

Thin-layer zinc phosphating produces a fine-crystalline, thin zinc phosphate layer that is particularly suitable for components requiring precise dimensional accuracy and a uniform coating. It provides optimal adhesion for paint and powder coatings.

Thick-layer zinc phosphating forms a thicker, crystalline zinc phosphate layer that withstands higher mechanical and corrosive loads. It is ideal for subsequent oiling with oil emulsions and applications with increased protection requirements.

Iron Phosphating

Iron phosphating is a process used to clean and phosphatize components such as sheet metal in a single step. It provides a foundation for subsequent coatings. Iron phosphating is suitable for iron, zinc, aluminum, and plastics.
