Communication in the supply chain regarding substances of very high concern according to Article 33 of the REACH Regulation

Since October 28, 2020 suppliers, producers, importers or distributors of substances of very high concern (SVHC) in their products can report in the SCIP database of the European Chemicals Agency ECHA. From January 5th, 2021 the obligation to report in the database applies to all articles in the EU containing SVHC with a content of more than 0.1%. There is no tonnage limit as for registration under REACH.

SCIP stands for Substances of Concern in articles as such or in complex objects (products). It is a database on Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) in products developed by ECHA based on the Waste Framework Directive. It completes the notification and reporting obligations under REACH for substances on the candidate list.

Chemical Suppliers including formulators are not required to report SCIP.

Coatings are an integral part of an article and the notification obligation applies to the article.

You can find the information on SVHC in the safety data sheets of our products. Should a substance appear on the SVHC list, the safety data sheets will automatically be updated accordingly and will be sent to all customers without being requested to do so.
